31st Annual River To Sea Bike Ride

The 2021 River to Sea Bike Ride has been scheduled for Saturday October 16th.

The 31st Annual The River To Sea Bike Ride will take place Saturday October 16, 2021. This event is a 20-mile bike ride along the historic route of the Wilmington Beach Car Line. There is no cost to participate but t-shirts are available for purchase for $15 until September 17th. Each participant must register individually.

All age groups and experienced levels of cyclists participate in this ride but must be able to ride 20 miles at a casual pace. Helmets are required and cyclists should give their bicycle a thorough safety inspection prior to the event.

Check-in is from 6:30 am to 7:15 am at the intersection of Princess Street and Second Street in downtown Wilmington. Cyclists will depart at 7:30 am from downtown. Cyclists will arrive at Wrightsville Beach Park close to 8:45am. There is a 15-20 minute break at Wrightsville Beach Park before beginning the second half of the ride back downtown.

Registration will close at 450 participants or October 15 at 1 PM. If you are not able to register online prior to the event, day-of registration will have a $5 charge and exact change is required.


For the convenience of participants, the route for this ride deviates slightly from that of the River To Sea Bikeway. Please view provided map.

New Hanover County does not require masks to be worn for outdoor events. Participants are encouraged to review the CDC’s latest COVID-19 guidelines.
