The 35th Annual River To Sea Bike Ride will take place Saturday, May 3, 2025!
This event is a 20-mile bike ride along the historic route of the Wilmington Beach Car Line. All age groups and experience levels of cyclists participate in this ride but must be able to ride 20 miles at a casual pace. Helmets are required and cyclists should give their bicycle a thorough safety inspection prior to the event.

Preregistration opens on Wednesday, March 12 at noon, and will be open through Friday, April 2, at noon, or until preregistrations reach the cap of 450 participants. There is no cost to preregister. Day-of registration will be available for $5, cash only.
T-shirts, water bottles, and stickers will be available for preorder until Friday, March 28, at noon. A limited amount of swag items will be available for purchase, cash only, day-of the ride. T-shirts are $30, water bottles are $10, and stickers are $5.
- Helmets are required!
- Check-in is from 6:15 am to 6:50 am at the intersection of Princess Street and Second Street in downtown Wilmington.
- Bathrooms downtown will be limited, so it is advisable to go before you arrive. There will be port-a-johns at the stopping point in Wrightsville Beach.
- Cyclists will depart at 7:00 am from downtown and arrive at Wrightsville Beach Park close to 8:15 am. There is a 15-20 minute break at Wrightsville Beach Park, where bananas and waters will be available, before beginning the second half of the ride back downtown.
- Review bicyclist hand signals so you can use them during the ride when turning, slowing, or stopping.
