Bike Month 2025

National Bike Month, promoted by the League of American Bicyclists, has been celebrated in May in communities across the US since 1956! Every year, Go Coast hosts an area-wide bike month that encourages residents of the Wilmington urban area to ride a bike and enjoy our streets and trails on two wheels!

Bike Month aims to celebrate and promote safe and convenient biking as a means of sustainable and equitable transportation, for exercise and health, for building community, and for fun!

Don’t forget to check out the River to Sea annual bike ride, which took place Saturday, May 3, 2025. See ride details. See y’all in 2026!

2025 Bike Month Recap

During May 2025’s Bike Month Challenge, riders logged an impressive 3,622 miles!

WMPO staff promoted safety by giving away 44 children’s helmets at the Summer Safety Bash, co-hosted with the Wilmington Fire Department at the Boys and Girls Club.

Plus, the inaugural Tune Up and Tunes at Special Pedals saw 20 cyclists for bike checks!
