34th Annual River to Sea Bike Ride

The 34th Annual River To Sea Bike Ride has been rescheduled due to traffic impacts from the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge preservation project. This event is a 20-mile bike ride along the historic route of the Wilmington Beach Car Line. All age groups and experience levels of cyclists participate in this ride but must be able to ride 20 miles at a casual pace. Helmets are required and cyclists should give their bicycle a thorough safety inspection prior to the event. Review bicyclist hand signals so you can use them during the ride when turning, slowing, or stopping.

  • Helmets are required!
  • Check-in is from 6:15 am to 6:55 am at the intersection of Princess Street and Second Street in downtown Wilmington.
  • Bathrooms downtown will be limited as most businesses will not be open yet, so it is advisable to go before you arrive. There will be port-a-johns at the stopping point in Wrightsville Beach.
  • Cyclists will depart at 7:00 am from downtown and arrive at Wrightsville Beach Park close to 8:15am. There is a 15-20 minute break at Wrightsville Beach Park, where bananas and waters will be available, before beginning the second half of the ride back downtown.
