This event is a 20-mile bike ride along the historic route of the Wilmington Beach Car Line. All age groups and experience levels of cyclists participate in this ride but must be able to ride 20 miles at a casual pace. Helmets are required and cyclists should give their bicycle a thorough safety inspection prior to the event.
Pre-registration for the ride has reached capacity and is now closed. Registration will still be available day-of the ride for a $5, cash only, exact change fee.
Port City Java will be participating as a ride partner for this year’s ride! Port City Java will be open at 6:00 am on September 7, 2024 and will provide discounted food and beverages for riders at the Downtown location after the ride! Participants will receive more details via email prior to the ride.
T-shirts are available for preorder for $25 and stickers for $5 from 7/17/24-8/1/24. A limited number of t-shirts and stickers will be available for sale day-of the ride for purchase, cash only and exact change please.
- Helmets are required!
- Check-in is from 6:15 am to 6:55 am at the intersection of Princess Street and Second Street in downtown Wilmington.
- Bathrooms downtown will be limited, so it is advisable to go before you arrive. There will be port-a-johns at the stopping point in Wrightsville Beach.
- Cyclists will depart at 7:00 am from downtown and arrive at Wrightsville Beach Park close to 8:15am. There is a 15-20 minute break at Wrightsville Beach Park, where bananas and waters will be available, before beginning the second half of the ride back downtown.
- Review bicyclist hand signals so you can use them during the ride when turning, slowing, or stopping.
