Go Coast FY25 Quarter 2 Report

In FY25 Quarter 2 (October 2024 – December 2024), Go Coast staff continued work for development of the TDM short-range plan update. The current plan, titled Cape Fear Change In Motion 2020, plans for Go Coast and TDM activities from 2021-2025. The plan update, which takes place every 5 years, will span 2026-2030. This quarter, we conducted a set of employer commuting workshops to inform development of TDM objectives.
Here are some other highlights from FY25 Q2:
- Get There Greener, our annual sustainable transportation challenge, took place in October 2024. Together, we tracked over 2,700 miles by alternative transportation, saving 1,101 kg of carbon dioxide emissions from entering our air!
- Our first Bike to Work Day was held on October 11, with three morning pit stops and three afternoon/evening pit stops handing out water, snacks, and other goodies to cyclists passing by.
- We wrapped up distribution of children’s bicycle helmets granted in 2024 by NCDOT’s Bicycle Helmet Initiative. We received 100 helmets in April 2024 and by December, we’ve distributed 92!
