Go Coast FY26 Quarter 2 Report

In FY26 Quarter 2 (October 2025 – December 2025), all our hard work on the WMPO’s update to the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) concluded! The new plan, Cape Fear Navigating Change 2050, updated Cape Fear Moving Forward 2045. The MTP is updated every five years and contains a vision for our transportation network by 2050 with plans, projects, and policies for our region. Cape Fear Navigating Change 2050 was adopted October 29, 2025 by the WMPO Board.
Cape Fear Navigating Change 2050 also contains plans for Go Coast! A short-range TDM plan for the years 2026-2030 is included in Appendix L of the plan. Read more on the WMPO’s website.
Some highlights to wrap up 2025:
- The WMPO distributed 114 bike helmets to children throughout the year’s outreach!
- Over $1,200 worth of prizes were donated by local businesses for lucky participants of this year’s Get There Greener challenge.
- 138 new pledgers took action to always Be a Looker!
